About The Book
More Than a Book
A Companion Becoming Her – A Pocket of Hope is more than a book — it’s a companion designed to be carried, revisited, and reflected upon. This pocket-sized collection of affirmations, mini messages, and reflections offers encouragement during moments of uncertainty, transition, healing, and growth.
Each page gently reminds readers of their worth, their strength, and the freedom to take up space in becoming.
Whether you are a young girl discovering your voice, a woman navigating change, or someone simply needing reassurance, this book offers words of hope when you need them most.
“You don’t have to shrink or fear taking up space—softly, bravely embrace all that makes you beautifully you.” — Becoming Her – A Pocket of Hope
Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote this book after witnessing so many girls and women navigate hard seasons without the
encouragement and emotional support needed to rise above. It was inspired by the girls and
women I have mentored, supported, and advocated for over the past 40 years — and by my late
aunt, Cecilia Denise Boykins, whose weekly reminders always anchored me in a simple truth:
you are enough.
Her words taught me to value my worth, stand confidently in my identity, and never shrink for the
comfort of others — standing fully in who I was created to become.
Becoming Her – A Pocket of Hope is my way of sharing that same hope, love, and strength with
others on their journey of becoming.
“I don’t need to become someone else to be enough – I am enough”
